Nursing

The comprehensive-care-concept of epilepsy treatment is based on collaboration in a multiprofessional team. The team of nurses cares for our patients on a 24-h-basis and often is the first contact person for patients facing acute problems. Beyond common nursing duties, the staff members are specialised in observing, describing and documenting epileptic seizures and in acute administration of antiepileptic drugs if urgently required in prolonged seizures. Furthermore, nursing staff is majorly involved in accompanying patients during snoezelen, patient cooking, training for regular taking of antiepileptic drugs, and education.
